It works but takes some set up.

I have used it 3 times now. One of the times was at an Electrify America station, where two different stalls connected to the car but then the credit card readers declined my cards. I suspect it might have worked at this location by paying through an app but I didn't bother. It worked fine in a different EA location with credit card reader. Neither of the EA locations had chademo chargers. It also worked at an EVgo station that also has chademo but I just wanted to test the adapter on CCS.

I got a Sanyo 18650 3500mAh button top battery for the adapter. Like another reviewer, I found that it was not getting a good connection and added a small metal washer between the screw and ring terminal in the battery cover. That was enough to allow it to charge (steady red light when charging 18650 battery, not blinking).

It would have been nice if it included a case. I keep my adapter in a small tool bag that is a nice size for it. Overall, it feels like a quality adapter.

Doesn't work at electrify canada

Works at most places! However it doesn't work at electrify canada. Not tesla either. Wondering if there will be any updates.

Great Device, Needs a battery and a better User Manual!

Okay, here's the story. First, it does NOT come with the battery, so I waited another 10 days to get one delivered. Turned out it was not a "BUTTON TOP" version of the battery (can't believe that battery number comes in button top, flat top, Li-ion and alkaline), so it didn't work. I put a big glob of solder on top, re-bent the cable out of the way, and attached the stupid screw terminal on the top and got the battery to connect. BTW: Your user guide says 2 short blinks every second is charging... NO IT ISN'T, it indicates the battery is NOT connected. It does that with NO Battery installed!!! (I won't go into how bad the user guide is, wrong and incomplete. A translation issue I guess.)

Anyway, the ridiculous connection on top with the screw resolved, and the battery actually connected, it charged.

The next day (today) I took it to a CCS charging station, ---and wait for it--- it WORKED FLAWLESSLY!

Connected both ends, pushed the button, and it took off through the checks, and started charging!

In the end, well worth it and it extends the life of my car, a 2011 Leaf with a 2021 62WH battery.

So please fix the ridiculous battery connection situation and ship with the right battery or tell your customers to get a BUTTON TOP version ordered ahead of time.

Thanks,
George

BTW: Submitted here since there was no submit button on the email!!!

My first time was great

My new A2Z adapter worked great the first time I tried it, at Electrify America in a Walmart parking lot. I will eventually get used to the weirdness of pushing the button to turn on the adapter. CCS1 chargers are much lighter and easier to handle than the CHAdeMOs, an unexpected bonus.

Battery connection issue

In attempting to charge the battery, I discovered that it was not getting a good contact with the positive terminal of the internal rechargeable battery when replacing the cap. I had to add a small metal washer to assure contact was being made. Now during battery charging, the light stays on continuously instead of blinking. Has anyone else found this to be the case?
