Very Impressed!

It does exactly what it says, and flawlessly as far as I can tell. You do need to supply your own 18650 battery, but the CCS/CHAdeMO adapter has a USB charging port built-in, for charging the 18650...so you do not need to buy a charger for it.

Grateful for the solution!

I have a Nissan leaf 2016, and I am so glad there is finally an adaptor available. I used it twice from the road and it worked!!! No software issue.
The only issue is that once my car was charged , it was difficult to unplug my adaptor from the CCS plug I used. I had to hold the adaptor between my knees, click on the button, and slowly force it out. Hopefully it will loosen with time? But at least, it works!

New complication! I got a notice from Nissan yesterday saying my ChadeMo portal in my Nissan Leaf is dangerous. I should not have se it (or my new adaptor) until a “fix” is out, which won’t be til sometime in Spring 2025. This is devastating news. I was finally all ready for road trips. Now I can not risk a fire. So sad.

Good device, occasionally doesn't work.

This adapter is good at offering CCS compatibility for a Chademo vehicle like my LEAF. It is not perfect, I used the device several times on a road trip soon after receiving it and there were a few CCS chargers that didn't appear to work with it. I couldn't tell if it was because of the device or the location was faulty, but its worth noting that it may not have 100% compatibility, so be sure to plan trips with multiple CCS chargers in your stop areas... But it works well and is a life saver as CCS becomes more commonplace. One frustrating point: the device doesn't ship with a special battery type "18650" that it requires, it took me a few days after receiving the charger to hunt this down and get it. This is part of why I gave the review 4 stars, if you pay over a thousand dollars for this device, it should ship with a $5 battery included to reduce that headache. There was nothing on the order screen that indicated I needed to purchase this item and have it ready to make this device work. But, the device IS terrific. I couldn't have done my recent road trip without it, as Chademo chargers are harder to find in some locations. Thanks.

CCS1 to Chademo Adapter works!

At the EVgo, Chargepoint, and Electrify America stations that I’ve tried it at, the adapter has worked. It took a few tries to figure out the right angle and leverage to get the cable all the way into place and a few time-outs. There were no problems that were adapter related, just some user trial-and-error.

I've found the best way to go about it was to have the adapter plugged into the car, the relevant charger app open and ready to go, and the CCS cable in hand. The best time to press the power button on the adapter is right before you plug the CCS cable in to reduce the chance of time-outs.

If you have your Leaf set to Lock or Auto the adapter will retain the charging cable securely even after the session is complete.

Two thumbs up.
