- Safety and Security: The adapter features a single locking mechanism : The top latch ensures proper interlock between the adapter and the vehicle's charge port. The top locking mechanism (CCS1 latch) controls through a set of springs the NACS side locking pin. If the adapter is locked by the charge port's locking mechanism, the NACS connector can't be removed from the adapter.

For added safety, the A2Z Typhoon Plug incorporates two temperature sensor switches. The first sensor derates the charging process upon reaching a certain temperature, while the second sensor halts charging, the temperature are strategically placed within the adapter. Charging can resume once the temperature normalizes and the adapter is reconnected. It's worth noting that during real-life testing, thermal shutdown was never reached.

I chose the A2Z adapter after watching the review on the YouTube channel "State of Charge" and I also watched the State of Charge interview with the A2Z CEO. The Typhoon Pro just feels like a quality product when you hold it. It plugged into the vehicle seamlessly, (unlike trying to plug in the Electrify America handle). It was also very easy to connect the Tesla port to the adapter. Just make sure you hear a "click" when plugging into the cars port and the Tesla port. I am waiting for my car mfg. (Genesis) to send me their free adapter, however depending on what that's like I may continue using the A2Z. I can't wait until A2Z starts to sell the DC cable extension. It would be nice if they sold the cable extensions with different length variations. I think for most vehicles a 5 foot extension would be good. If it's too long, weight will be an issue and may take up too much storage space in the car. The prototype extension cable shown on State of Charge was very long and he said it was very bulky and heavy.
We tried this the first time a few days ago, just as a test, and it passed with good marks. It did not heat up, for instance. Our only issue was the clasp and the release mechanism. The adapter took a little while to click into place. The hard part, however, was getting it to release both the NCS and then the adapter from the car’s CCS. Hard. A little too hard for my wife. We are hoping that the CCS port stretches a little over time.
I have only used the adapter once. The first time I used it it worked great The only problem I had was disconnecting the adapter from them Tesla handle, it was a little tight
L'adaptateur reçu est de très bonne qualité. Il est lourd est semble très solide. La petite trousse de rangement qui vient avec est très bien également. Pas testé encore sur un chargeur Tesla mais mes premières impressions sont très bonne.
