Works well but what's the button for?

Works well as an extension cord for my model 3, but what's the point of the button on the handle? It doesn't open my charge port when it's not plugged in. When it is plugged in, clicking it once doesn't unlock it. Holding it down seems to just shut off the power and make my car throw an error message, but still doesn't unlock it. Am I missing something?

Just as advertised

Gives us extra flexibility charging multiple EVs without having to shuffle cars to be closer to our supply equipment. Didn’t know I needed it, until I saw it advertised. It’s really been wonderful!
